Getting pre-qualified doesn't need to be scary. (photo by svilen mushkatov)
Considering buying a house, but don’t know where to turn?
Don’t worry, it isn’t painful and only takes a few minutes to do.
What do you need?
- Your Income
- Your Bank Statements
- Your Social Security Information
The pre-approval process is where the mortgage professional will verify your income, your assets, and your credit rating. The exact requirements will verify by bank, but most will want last two year tax returns, three months of paystubs, and two bank statements.
I reccomend being approved early in the home-buying process, it allows you to set your sites on a home that is within your price range.
Who do you call?
Use a mortgage person that you are comfortable with — whether from your own bank or a competitor. Shop them a little, you’ll find different rates at different types of institutions.
