New California Monument Gets New Lease on Life

New California has always been one of those spots that have intrigued me, located in Jerome Township just a few miles southwest of Delaware County on U.S. 42.

I’m certain that part of it was the unique war memorial that was placed right on the corner of Industrial Parkway and U.S. 42 in what now looks like an odd placement for this beautiful monument to our fallen heroes. No park like features, no benches, just a dusty parking lot.

Factoring in that Industrial Parkway was U.S. 33 for many years I’m amazed it never became the New California monument tribute to bad truck drivers.

I’m very excited to see what goes into the park the township trustee is talking about. After all the monument deserves it in New California.
