Apple Butter, Horseradish Day at Lawrence Orchards
By Toby Boyce, on October 20th, 2012
Head about five miles north of the Delaware-Marion County line to Lawrence Orchards for the annual Apple Butter and Horseradish Day on Saturday, October 20, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The tradition of fall includes the making of apple butter the old-fashioned way with a copper kettle and an open fire. You’ll even have the chance to watch them chop fresh the horseradish crop to and even create a fresh horseradish sauce that they claim to be the best you’ve ever tasted.
A special addition this year is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. their will be pony rides for the kids with all proceeds going to Special Riding Stars which offers riding lessons for special needs children.
The hay maze, field maze, and tractor-drawn wagon rides will be free for the whole family!
Head to Lawrence Orchards for the fun at 2634 Smeltzer Road in southern Marion County for a great time today.
