According to its Web site, the goal is “to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives”.

What an amazing concept and one that is obviously working with Lizzy Miles. Her first session is scheduled for Thursday, July 19, is full; her second session scheduled for Thursday, August 23, is already filling up.

The objective of a Death Café is to have a safe place where people get together to talk about death and have tea and delicious food. If you want to attend e-mail lizzymiles [at] gmail.com with “Death Café RSVP” in the subject line. Please give your full name and why you’re interested in attending the Death Cafe. Upon your RSVP being processed the location will be sent to you.
