Ohio Machine Highlight Delaware’s First Friday Mascot Madness
If your goal is to meet some of Major League Lacrosse’s finest players and to celebrate spring with family and friends, you’ve just scored big.
Main Street Delaware’s April 6 First Friday celebration will welcome the Ohio Machine to the city, complete with a pep rally and a chance for fans to get player autographs from Delaware’s first major league sports team. The Ohio Machine will play seven home games at Ohio Wesleyan University’s Selby Stadium from May through August.
The Machine also is bringing an inflatable bounce house downtown for children to enjoy during the free 6 to 9 p.m. First Friday event.
In addition to the Machine, many other Delaware organizations will have their mascots downtown to give hugs and high-fives to their fans during Main Street Delaware’s “Mascot Madness.” Free children’s crafts also will be available during the event, and many restaurants and businesses will stay open late to help celebrate the city.
“First Friday is a great opportunity to relax, greet friends, and enjoy Delaware,” said Frances Jo Hamilton, executive director of Main Street Delaware. “We’re especially excited to welcome the Ohio Machine to our community and invite everyone to come meet the team.”
Main Street Delaware encourages residents and local organizations to enjoy each First Friday and other downtown activities.
