Take your loved one or a special friend to the Sweetheart Dinner on Saturday, February 11, and help raise money for families in need in Delaware.
Common Ground Free Store will host its fourth annual Sweetheart Dinner at the historic Andrews House, 39 West Winter St. in Delaware. The cost is $39.95 for two people.Two seatings will be offered, one at 6 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. The menu will feature roasted Cornish game hen, green beans almondine, salad and double-chocolate cheesecake. Wine can be purchased there. Guests can relax in an atmosphere of candlelight and music, and they’ll receive a complimentary photo to remember the night.
A silent auction also will be held. Volunteers are working with local individuals and merchants to create gift baskets of delicacies and treats including an Italian-themed basket featuring the flavors of Italy, chocolates, flowers, books, unique handcrafted items, and even items for dog and cat lovers to pamper their pets.
“This will be a wonderful evening to celebrate friendship, romance and family, and it’s also a gift to the community because proceeds will benefit families who need a helping hand,” said Beth Trigg, assistant director of Common Ground Free Store.
Common Ground, which provides free clothes and household items at its Delaware store, has served 14,000 people since opening five years ago. Sponsors include Buehler’s, Delaware Community Market, OWU Food Service, Banks Market and Sysco.
