While property values have declined in Delaware County, don’t worry the tax districts have already squeezed that into our budgets (yes, I know it is eruo but what a cool photograph!)
In September, Delaware County announced the new home values it had come up with for every parcel in the county. The one “pill” that was used to ease the pain at that point was that we should in theory pay less for our taxes in 2011.
Ahh, but not so fast grasshopper. The tax districts throughout the county had seen this coming and may have done an end-around on the taxpayers. Considering, the postcard I received from the Auditor’s office it appears that they have been receiving a lot of questions about these tax values.
Most people living in Delaware City Schoools and within the City of Delaware limits will see a decrease in their taxes. My personal residence saw a 3.5% drop in value and a 2.3% drop in my tax dollars.
