Dublin to Light Community Christmas Tree on Thursday

The City of Dublin will officially kick off the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 2, in historic Dublin, Ohio.

The festive evening, which is free and open to the public, will include photos with Santa, live reindeer, elves, musical and dance performances, hot chocolate and more. The highlight of the evening will be when Santa and Dublin City Council light the brilliant 40-foot Christmas tree with thousands of glistening lights and ornaments.

Schedule of Events:

6 p.m., Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, 62 W. Bridge St.,

  • Musical Performance by Glacier Ridge and Deer Run Elementary Students
  • Santa Arrives by Fire Truck
  • Christmas Tree Lighting
  • Dublin Dance will perform two dances from the Nutcracker

6:45 – 8 p.m., Dublin Library, 75 North High Street

  • Free photos with Santa
  • Refreshments and free photos with Santa will be sponsored by the Historic Dublin Business Association.

  • On Saturday, December 4, the fun continues with the Historic Dublin Holiday and Chili Cook-off from Noon – 4 p.m.

    Public tastings will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Brazenhead, 56 N. High St.; La Chatelaine, 65 W. Bridge St.; and J’Liu’s, 50 W. Bridge St. The winner of the chili contest will be named at 3:30 p.m. at Brazenhead.
