#29: Joe’s Original Pub, Lewis Center

I had the chance to slide into a warm barstool at Joe’s Original Pub and well you should make a trip to do it soon as well. Today we head to Lewis Center, Ohio for DelawareOH365.com.

This is the second location for Joe’s Original, the other is in Dublin, and they’ve ironed out a lot of the kinks. While being located in a suburban strip mall, Joe’s does a good job of bringing you back to the traditional pub atmosphere. My favorite touch was the faux-copper ceiling above the bar. The majority of the atmosphere was just tables around the room and easy viewing access to the more than 20 televisions around the building.

Since, I’ve gone all “Lemonade Lucy” no comment on the wide beer selection, but the Coke was good. The food was solid, not the best I’ve had but good.

I went with the Joe’s Pub Burger ($7.99) which features 12-ounces of Certified Angus Beef grilled and topped with cheddar cheese along with french fries. The menu claims its “the biggest and best burger in town” and well Lewis Center, Ohio is a small town. Joe’s Pub Burger is a solid no-frills burger with a basic approach of good meat — not a lot of added flavors — and fresh condiments. It might be the biggest in town, but not sure it will win a lot of “best” awards.

Besides its $2 house – 22-ounce Coors Light – draft, $2 import beer of the month and $5 Skyy Bombs, Joe’s has daily dine-in specials:

  • Monday – “Wing Night” and Domestic Buckets 6 for $10.50
  • Tuesday – $2.50 Import bottles and two-topping pizza for $6.99
  • Wednesday – 1/2-price 3/4-pound burgers with chips and $3 mixed drinks (well liquors)
  • Thursday – “Ladies night” features $4 margaritas and $1-off Ruebens and chicken stackers (includes fries).
  • Friday – Joe’s Whaler is $5.99 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and 1/2-off selected appetizers.
  • Saturday – “Patio party” will feature domestic buckets (6 of your favorite American beer) for $10.50 and 1/2-off selected appetizers until 8 p.m.
  • Sunday – “Wing night” features $0.39 boneless or $0.49 bone-in wings.

Joe’s is definitely worth a return trip to its Lewis Center, Ohio location.

Joe’s Original Pub is located at 6477 Pullman Drive in the new Kroger / Ohio State Medical Center complex at the intersection of Lewis Center Road and Columbus Pike (U.S. Route 23) about five miles south of Delaware, Ohio.
