The location may feel “familiar” for Delaware, Ohio’s coffee-lovers, however once they step across the threshold of 17 West Winter Street the experience will be totally new.
Choffey’s Coffee and Confections opened its doors this morning at 7 a.m. for its soft-opening. The location is home to the former Trotter’s Coffee Company but has a total new look.
The old coffee bar is gone replaced instead with a more “cafe” feel with room for smaller tables and seating that Trotters lacked during busy times.
Choffey’s will be serving Hemisphere Coffee and they eventually plan to handle bulk coffee orders. If they don’t have something you are searching for … ask, they can probably get it roasted for you in a week.
The unique part of Choffey’s is that it is not stand-alone coffee shop. The location will also be a candy store for those seeking those afternoon sweet treats to go with the cup of coffee. They will be selling locally made Marie’s Candy and offer a multitude — in the vicinity of 37 — of options for chocolate lovers to choose from.
The store opens Monday through Saturday at 7 a.m. and will feel out their closing hours based on customer demand. “We’d love to be open Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and then on Thursday and Friday until 8 p.m.,” said Shelly Myers, co-owner of the location with her husband, Al. “However we are going to feel it out and see how it goes.” A formal Grand Opening being planned for Labor Day weekend.
Stop in and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and a chocolate sweet. You’ve earned it.
