Delaware City Vineyard needs our help to keep its food banking operating.
On Monday night the Food Pantry assisted 61 Delaware families and its capacity is being strained. Hence, the organization is putting out a call for help from church members and the rest of the Delaware community. They are asking for everyone to undertake the “4-1-1″ plan. The 4-1-1 plan is that for the next four weeks, every family member will bring one item per week to support the Food Pantry.
The Food Pantry is open throughout the week for walk-ins from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and the fourth Monday night of month from 6-8 p.m. Those that visit the pantry will receive bags of shelf-stable food to meet emergency needs. The goal of the Delaware City Vineyard Food Pantry is to demonstrate God’s love practically to people in and around the city of Delaware.
How Can I Help the Food Pantry?
There are many ways you can help with the food pantry. Workers who are available during the day to help with food deliveries, people who can pack bags, and people to help with hospitality and registration are needed. - Boxes/Bags of Rice
- Crackers
- Snack Items
- Canned Fruits & Vegetables
- Pasta Sauce
- Tuna
- Meal Helpers
- Diabetic Foods
- Shampoo
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes (new in package)
- Bars of Soap
- Laundry Detergent
