The Delaware Cows are back in town and today we are making the trip down to see them as DelawareOH365.com’s stop of the day.
The Cows play all their home games at Ohio Wesleyan University’s Littick Field off Henry Street in central Delaware, Ohio.
Haven’t seen a Cows contest?
Well tonight is the perfect chance to fix that as the squad returns from the All-Star break with a contest against Hamilton beginning at 5 p.m.
The Cows compete in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League which is a wood-bat summer baseball league. The players are some of the top college players around the country and are competing with wood bats to catch scout’s eyes and potentially get a shot in professional baseball.
The Cows entered the break with a 13-11 mark in sixth-place of the 11-team GLSCL. Chris Peters, a junior at the University of Cincinnati, leads the team with a .384 batting average to go with 4 doubles, a home run, and 22 RBI.
On the mound, Shelton State Community College sophomore David Hayes ranks among the league leaders with a 1.80 earned-run average to go with a 2-0 record in 25 innings.
So don’t let us keep you from heading out to the old ballyard to take in a little Cows’ baseball tonight.
