Scioto Gardens Landscape Nursery will be hosting its fourth-annual Garden and Arts Festival on Saturday, July 17, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. in Delaware, Ohio.
Dozens of local artists, craftsmen, and musicians welcome guests throughout this uniquely natural nursery setting. Native and unusual plants are available for sale along with the work of our many fine artists. Mellow music, great gourmet food, and free gardening workshops to give you guidance in the art of gardening are offered throughout the day. This is special festival you don’t want to miss!
The free gardening classes will include:
- 10:30 a.m., “Connect Kids with Nature in Your Backyard,” Amy Dutt, Urban Wild
- 11:30 a.m., “Summer’s best! – Flowers you’ll want for your garden!” Beth Richardson, Designs with Nature
- 12:30 p.m., “Backyard Conservation & Rain Gardens,” Stephanie Suter, Franklin Soil & Water
- 1:30 p.m., “Worm Composting Basics,” Jeremy Gedert, One20Farm
- 2:30 p.m., “Going Wild Without Offending the Neighbors,” Denise Gualtiere, Inspirations Landscape Design
- 3:30 p.m., “Restoring Native Eco Systems in Your Own Backyard,” Tom Kessel, Renewables
In addition to the classes, there will be live bands throughout the day including:
- 9:30-11:30 Three Day Weekend – Jazz
- 12:00-2:00 Walkin’ Cane – High Energy Acoustic Blues
- 2:00-4:00 Doug Wood – Instrumental Acoustic Guitar, with Bass
- 4:00-6:00 Rusty Strings – Rock, Folk, Jazz
