It has been a warm start to July. Thursday was the warmest day of the year so far — and it looks like the 90+ degree days aren’t going anywhere soon.
Ahh, so it is a great time to be thinking about swimming. And while, Delaware County is full of natural water-ways, it seems that we enjoy the comforts of the concrete swimming pools that are located throughout the county. The gleaming jewel in the city of Delaware, Ohio, is the Jack Florance Swimming Pool in Mingo Park.
Jack Florance Swimming Pool was recently upgrade to include two 28-foot tall water slides, a “zero-depth” entry area and interactive water toys. You’d be hard pressed to believe that the pool is 30 years old as your slide into the beautiful water.
Daily swimming rates are $6 for adults go down to $4 per adult after 6 p.m. and $4 for children aged 3-17.
The pool is open daily through August 24. The pool is open Noon until 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday On Weekdays the schedule is:
- 6:00 – 7:00 a.m. — Morning Lap Swim
- Noon – 6:00 p.m. — Open Swim, Lap Swim
- 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. — Family Swim (children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian)
The post-season runs on August 28, 29, September 4, 5, and 6 and the hours will be from Noon until 7 p.m.
