The next Lolli-Pops! Kids Concert of the 2010 season will be Monday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Village Green Amphitheater in Powell, Ohio. The Shazzbots, a Columbus-based group known for its energetic live shows, will perform.

The Shazzbots were named Best Kiddie Rock Band in the July 2010 issue of Columbus Monthly magazine and have performed at a variety of central Ohio events – including Red, White & Boom and the Nelsonville Music Festival – as well as several area schools.
“I’ve had people who haven’t seen our Lolli-Pops lineup for this year asking if The Shazzbots would be performing, so they definitely have a following,” said Jeff Robinson, Powell’s public information officer. “This show should be a lot of fun.”
The Shazzbots are relatively new to the kiddie music scene, having been formed about a year ago by Columbus musician Ian Hummel. The group just released its first CD and promises “a little bit of learning and a whole lot of fun” at its live shows, with such kid-friendly songs as “My Cat’s Name is Peanut Butter,” “Walkin’ Down the Street with My Chicken” and “Bugs Bugs Bugs.”
This year’s Lolli-Pops concerts are presented by the City of Powell, with help from More Time for You, Costco and the Powell Kiwanis Club. In addition to the concert, there will be giveaways and plenty of chalk for drawing on the walkways around the stage. The Splash Pad at Village Green Park also will be open.
The concert and parking are free. Parking is available for concertgoers in the municipal parking lots downtown, at Adventure Park on Adventure Park Drive and in the Village Academy School parking lot, located at 284 S. Liberty Street. Concertgoers should NOT park in private parking lots around the amphitheater, particularly if they plan to stay and use the Splash Pad after the concert.
