The holiday weekend is fast approaching and if the weather folks are right it is going to be a beautiful one.
Would be a great weekend to get out and enjoy the beauty that makes Delaware County shine. Alum Creek State Park is a 3,300+ acre lake that runs along much of Eastern Delaware County and includes 4,000+ acres of rolling hills for adventurers. While it isn’t very wide the lake is extremely long running from the Alum Creek Dam along Lewis Center Road to the State Route 521 bridge just east of Kilbourne.
The video was taken at the boat ramp on the lake’s northern end at the Howard Road Bridge. This is probably my favorite area of the lake in that it is so peaceful. As you move further south into the heart of the lake it becomes a “playground” for all those that enjoy the water from fishing, to boating, to jet skiing, to just relaxing on the water.
As you may have realized, I recorded this with plans for it to go up Memorial Day weekend. :p
Please, please, please be careful when you are enjoying Alum Creek Lake – or any other lake, pond, or pool — this holiday weekend. We’ve already lost too many lives this year from boating accidents and drownings.
