Kenny Loggins will headline “Dublin Through the Decades” Dublin’s Independence Day Celebration, on Saturday, July 3, at the Dublin Coffman High School stadium.
By any standard, Loggins’ commercial impact has been extraordinary; twelve of his albums have gone platinum and beyond. In a world of one hit wonders and fifteen minute sensations, Loggins has enjoyed hit songs in four straight decades — a remarkable testament to his exceptional craftsmanship and stamina.
Kenny Loggins started his career as a duo with Jim Messina. Loggins and Messina played together for five years amassing hit singles, including “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “Watching the River Run,” “Danny’s Song,” “Love Song,” and many others.
Kenny Loggins began his solo career in 1976 and his first three albums– Celebrate Me Home, Keep the Fire and Nightwatch all went platinum on singles including “Celebrate Me Home,” “This Is It,” “What A Fool Believes,” Whenever I Call You Friend featuring Stevie Nicks, and many more. In addition, Loggins received two Grammy’s for “What A Fool Believes” and “This Is It.”
During the 80s, Kenny Loggins became popular doing movie soundtrack themes including “Footloose” from the movie starting Kevin Bacon of the same name, “Danger Zone” from the Tom Cruise film Top Gun, and “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack.
