The Best Burger in the Area …

The Graffiti Burger in Dublin, Ohio

Okay, so I’m all about Delaware County and trying to keep this site that way.

But, on the recommendation of a few friends, we headed to Graffiti Burger fries & shakes on Sawmill Road in Dublin, Ohio. And since it is only about a   mile south of the Delaware – Franklin County line, I figured it was okay to share.

The first-thing you need to remember is that they serve burgers. The only non-beef item on the menu is the Veggie Burger ($4.99) – provolone cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, Graffiti sauce – and it just doesn’t quite fit in.

Speaking of fitting in, that was one thing that you felt like from the moment you crossed the threshold. As we entered a “Hi, how are you today? I’ll be with you in one second,” came from a table. All the workers were extremely polite and enjoyed interacting with the customers. This wasn’t an ordinary trip to a hamburger joint, it was a premium trip to a great place to eat.

When it came to ordering, I took the approach that if are going to Graffiti Burger it seems only right that you have the store’s namesake. So I took on the Graffiti Burger ($4.99) which has American cheese, zesty cole slaw, pickles, tomato, and Graffiti sauce on a fresh butter-toasted bun.Gretchen went with an Angus Burger ($4.99) with American cheese, sauteed onions, and Graffiti Guacamole ($1 additional as a premium topping). She had a chocolate shake ($2.99), I had a vanilla shake ($2.99) and we shared a 1/2-pound order of fresh-cut french fries ($2.79).

Getting back to the burgers for a second, the buns are made locally by Auddino’s Italian Bakery on Cara Avenue in Columbus.  They offer two options the original which features two patties and the junior which is about $1 less and uses only one patty. When it comes to building your own burger, Graffiti Burger offers 22 toppings that you can add at no charge or five premium toppings – including bacon, bleu cheese, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, and guacamole – that are $1 extra.

The french fries are not from Ohio – but I think Idaho is just fine – but they are very good and cooked in 100% trans-fat free vegitable oil.

The shakes were a great addition to the meal. They start with three scoops of triple bean vanilla ice cream, add one cup whole milk, blend and top with whip cream and a cherry. Of course they had Hershey’s chocolate syrup if you want chocolate. I really liked the triple bean flavor in the vanilla shake, but the wife preferred the smoothness of the chocolate – a dispute that will last as long as our marriage I’m afraid.

However one thing we didn’t dispute was that Graffiti Burger will now be on our regular options when we are in the Sawmill Road area.

Graffiti Burger has three locations in Dublin (7561 Sawmill), Grandview (1505 W. 5th), and Pickerington (10503 Blacklick Eastern).
