The event will be a mile walk that runs from the JAYwalk, in front of Hamilton-Williams Campus Center to Bicentennial Park while working its way through downtown Delaware, Ohio. Registration begins at 11 a.m.

The event takes place nationwide – though 2009 was the first in Delaware County – and has a goal of raising awareness around the issues of rape, sexual assault, and gender violence. The event empowers men to join the efforts of women in making the world a safer place. T-shirts are available for $10 on the day of the walk and at the conclusion there will be a lunch – by donation – in Bicentennial Park along with recreation and a chance to learn more about available victim resources.

The event is being spear-headed by the Delaware County Coalition of Victim Services and for more information contact them at (740) 833-2755, e-mail at walkamiledelco@live.com, or fax it to (740) 833-2368.

Bicentennial Park is located at 83 Rowland Drive – at the intersection with Liberty, behind the fire station – and Hamilton-Williams is the “green” roofed building on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus.
