The Delaware County Master Gardeners Association announces the 10th annual Green Thumbs Gardeners’ Fair to be held on Saturday, March 27, at Olentangy Liberty High School from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
This exciting yearly event, open to the public, provides a unique opportunity for both novice and advanced gardeners to learn through a variety of horticultural presentations. Each year, hundreds of visitors enjoy speakers, demonstrations, vendors, food and a huge raffle.
This year we will feature two keynote speakers. At 10:45 a.m. there will be “Square Foot Gardening” presented by Cassie Holderman D’Aula. Then at 1:30 p.m., “Four Seasons of Color” will be presented by Laura Deeter.
Other experts will give informative presentations on:
- New Veggies and Flowers for 2010
- Challenges & Solutions for Gardens & Landscapes
- Flowering Bulbs for year-around blooms
- The Maintenance & Care of Pruning Tools
- Nature Photography for Note Cards
- Irresistible Irises
- Backyard Composting
- Roses: Top Easy-Care Varieties
- The Best of the Best: Trees & Shrubs with Multi-Season Interest
- Using Your Backyard to Connect Kids with Nature
Reusable goodie bags will be distributed to the first 300 attendees. Over 40 gardening related vendors will be displaying the newest and best gardening merchandise and plants for sale.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Children 12-and-under are free. Lunch will be available for purchase. Tickets may be purchased at Beehive Bookstore (25 North Sandusky Street) or the OSU Extension Office (149 North Sandusky Street).
