The 11th Annual Maple Sugaring Open House at the Flying J Farm is today, February 27, from 2 – 4 p.m. in rural Johnstown, Ohio.
The event will begin with Pete’s famous pancakes made with Flying J Farm whole wheat flour and REAL maple syrup in the newly refurbished Garden Barn. We will give tours of the sugar bush and demonstrations on how the syrup is made. It will be cold so dress accordingly.
Also, they have limited parking because of the snow and a cow barn was destroyed last week by the snow so machinery is taking up some places.
They made some great syrup this week during two days of warm but will not have much syrup to sell. However, if you like beef, they’ll have the best organic, grass-fed beef for sale during the open house so you won’t go home empty.
The Flying J Farm is located at 5329 Van Fossen Road about five miles east (as the crow flies) of Sunbury, Ohio, in rural Licking County.
