Ohio’s Foreclosure Bill Struggling in Senate

Housing foreclosure moritorium struggles

Ohio's foreclosure moritorium bill appears to be dying in the Senate after passing the House in May.

Ohio House of Representatives passed a bill in May that would have put together a six-month moritorium on foreclosures if the home-owner can pay up to one-half of the amount due.

WOSU’s Bill Cohen has a nice piece they distributed on their Web site today about where the bill stands.

Basically, it hit the Republican-led Senate and is just sitting there.

I’m very doubtful that this will pass for partisan reasons. While I feel for those that are behind on their mortgage payments, I see this as a lot of the “modification” plans that are available through the government. They sound really good from a podium but when it comes to actually put them in practice it just doesn’t achieve results.
