Advance tickets are $10 up until Dec. 4, and can be purchased at Beehive Books, 25 N. Sandusky St. in Delaware, or on-line at www.wccdelaware.org. Tickets also will be available the day of the event for $12 at the Women’s City Club, 135 N. Franklin St. in Delaware.

All tour participants must start at the City Club, where they can visit the historic home and pick up a program and map of the houses on tour.

“The homes will be decorated to the nines, from antique decor to modern day,” said Debbie Aburmaieleh, event organizer. “We want to create a special day filled with holiday spirit and hospitality. Our hosts are opening up their homes for the public to enjoy, and also to ensure that our club can continue helping women in need.”

The tour homes are all in Delaware and include:

  • A brick Victorian home built in 1853 in the French Second Empire style. The exterior is notable for its beautiful decorative white iron. Inside, you’ll see Victorian antiques, period furnishings and crystal chandeliers from France.
  • The home of Rock Jones, president of Ohio Wesleyan University, and his wife, Melissa. The house, built in 1960, provides a gracious and hospitable setting for entertaining and family life. Come see the garlands, wreaths, candles and a Christmas tree of special ornaments evoking memories of families and friends.
  • The 133-year-old Winter Street Inn, where guests can enjoy old world elegance, grace and charm. Antique furnishing and lovely décor make this stately bed-and-breakfast an experience to savor.
  • The William Nash house, a seven-room brick Italianate built in 1878. Most of the Victorian furnishings are donations with direct connections to Delaware County. The holiday decorations are simple and reflect the type of Christmas displays used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is owned by the Delaware County Historical Society.
  • A two-story Italianate brick home built in the 1880s. The Christmas decor is traditional and features a collection of antique ornaments including Santas and toys.
  • The Italianate circa 1890 Bed and Breakfast, a homey and comfortable inn known for its warm blue exterior and the bevy of Christmas decorations inside.
  • A contemporary ranch house owned by the late Harold Wilcox, an OWU professor who enjoyed entertaining friends and students. The decorating theme is a nod to the retro feeling of the house, using contemporary decorations that recall the whimsy of Dr. Seuss.
  • The Women’s City Club, a three-story brick home built in 1890. Upstairs rooms are rented to low-income, working women. Downstairs, the Victorian parlor and dining room can be rented for weddings, parties or receptions.
  • The Delta Zeta sorority house, a spacious historic brick home where sorority sisters gather to socialize and to hold fundraisers for the community.
