I was in Marion for a meeting yesterday and stopped at the Delaware State Park — just north of State Route 229 in the very northern reaches of Delaware County — on the way home for a few minutes of rest and relaxation.

I wish I’d had the ole-fishing pole with me as the crickets were chirping, the birds a singing, the frogs a hopping, it was so peaceful.

However, I must admit that I was totally disgusted by the amount of trash that had been left at this location by receding water. Please do us all a favor and clean up after yourself when using the lake. You never know where your trash will show up.

Trash was visable all over the shore of Delaware Lake.
