Those that are routine readers of Delaware Ohio Events & Real Estate — formerly known as Sadie’s Take on Delaware — know that I don’t “seek” comments or usually move myself to “gimmicks” to build readership.
That happens organically.
Well, I’m on the planning committee for Real Estate Barcamp Ohio 2009 and we’ve made the decision to donate packs of underwear to the needy children of Africa as part of Mothers Fighting For Others’ Underwear for Africa program.
The program is a great way to give children the basic decency of having underwear in a country where a single-pair of underwear costs a day’s wages.
Well, here is how, you can help me. I promise to donate the number of pairs of underwear as there are comments on this post by August 10, 2009. This site averages more than 200 visitors per day — so I could be making a large donation to them if you step up.
So give me a comment and lets see where this heads.

What a great cause! I’m in awe of what MFFO does and is everyday.
I have been familiar with Raquel Turner and her work for more than a year now. I’m a contributing writer to Mothers Fighting for Others and I hope to travel with Rocky to Kenya sometime soon. She is doing truly incredible things for the girls at St. Monica’s – thank you so much for supporting her efforts!!
This might not seem like the most important cause in the world, but wearing underwear can do a lot to save an African girl from rape by putting across the idea that she’s ‘respectable’. It’s a small step towards getting due respect for women, but right now it could make all the difference in individual lives. Good luck!
Great idea! I collect Underwear for Africa too and my hubs and I are trying to get to Tanzania and pass them out. Im up to about 500 pair right now. Best of luck to you and your collecting efforts! Its such an awesome cause! MFFO is doing wonderful things to make a difference in this world! I pray the Lord blesses Rocky greatly for all she does!
