Are you ready to buy a home?
If you aren’t sure, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency is offering a Home-Buyer Education Course to go along with their programs. They allow you to complete this program online. From the OHFA Web site:
- Review the Homebuyer Guide. The Homebuyer Guide provides useful information to answer your questions as you search for your new home.
- Complete the 25-question Homebuyer Education Test. The test will verify your understanding of key information covered in the Homebuyer Guide.
- Complete the Monthly Budget Form.
- Upon completion, you will be able to submit your information to a counseling agency serving your county who will contact you to schedule an appointment within 24-48 hours for telephone counseling. Please allow 7-10 business days for actual completion.
- Participate in a one-hour telephone consultation with a housing counselor in your community. During the call, you will review your test and budget, and you can discuss any questions or concerns.
- After your consultation, the housing counselor will issue a certificate of completion to OHFA.
So if you are looking to buy a home, this is a great place to start and make sure you are prepared for all the things that can jump out and get you in the program.

I think it is a great idea. This is however what a good broker would try to do for their first time buyers. I think however if the buyer takes the course and really gets foundation their agent can really perform better with a more imformed client.
