Wednesday nights throughout the summer, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will be open late for “Family nights”.
The entire zoo is open with special activities from 4-8 p.m. throughout Water’s Edge Event Park, Jungle Jacks Landing, and Habitat Hallow.

Speical events include:
- July 8 – AAA Ohio Auto Club Night – Kids will learn traffic safety with a corn hole game and all ages will win on the Prize Wheel including emergency roadside kits, AAA memberships, coloring books and more! Don’t Miss the Bob Evans Farms Sampling Tent at My House at Habitat Hollow!
- July 15 – PaPa Johns Pizza Night – Sample free Papa John’s new Ultimate Pepperoni Plus pizza (while supplies last) and enter for a chance to compete in the pizza eating contest!
- July 22 – Velvet Ice Cream Night – Samples the summer’s favorite Velvet Ice Cream flavors with hand dipped samples! This summer you’ll also want to be sure to visit the Velvet Ice Cream plant in Utica, OH where you can watch ice cream being made in a newly renovated viewing gallery and visitors’ center.

- Aug. 5 – Bob Evans Restaurants Night - Celebrate the return of Bob-B-Q, Bob Evans signature barbecue line-up, when you savor the taste of smoky sweet Wildfire sauce on pulled pork and ribs! And remember, summer wouldn’t be summer without Bob Evans lean grilling sausage. Sample bratwurst or Italian sausage fresh from the grill!
- Aug. 12 – Columbus Clippers Night - Columbus’ favorite baseball team is bringing the excitement of the Clippers’ to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium with games, prizes and much more! The Clippers mascot will make an appearance to welcome all of our guests to Family Night. There will also be a speed pitch inflatable.
- Aug. 19 – Columbus Blue Jackets Night – The Columbus Blue Jackets are bringing the fun and excitement of the NHL to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium with the Blue Jackets Breakaway Tour. The Blue Jackets Breakaway is a family experience that offers something for sports fans of all ages. The “hockey carnival†includes a border patrol rink for street hockey games, Blue Jackets inflatables, and the “Huntington Hockey To Go” truck. Representatives from the Blue Jackets Fan Development and Ticketing departments will also be in attendance at the event. Breakaway attendees can pick up a complimentary gift bag and have the opportunity to register to win prizes including autographed memorabilia, game tickets, team merchandise and more
Regular admission prices apply, $11 for adults and other prices for children, but it is a great deal to enjoy one of Delaware County’s greatest treasures.
