New Winery is a Sweet Deal in Central Ohio

1147975_honeycomb_4During last week’s Main Street Delaware First Friday celebration at Simple Indulgence, Gretchen and I had the chance to sample a new winery — Brothers Drake Fine Mead — that is only about a year old.

The winery currently offers four selections of honey wine. The offerings include Fleur d’Or, Scarlet Solstice, Testa Rossa, and Southern Belle with several new offerings planned to debut this summer.

We sampled three of the flavors and found them to not be quite the typical “honey wine” that is so sweet that your pallet wants to reject it. They blend raspberries into the flavor that cuts the sweetness and provides nice flavored wine.

Brothers Drake is open for tasting Tuesday – Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday from Noon until 6 p.m.

Brothers Drake is situated just south of Delaware County off Flint and Park Road at 206 Oak Street in Columbus.
