Symphony conductor Jaime Morales-Matos
Delaware Ohio’s cultural scene has undergone an extreme renovation in the limited number of years that Gretchen and I’ve lived here.
And leading the charge is the Central Ohio Symphony and its long-running excellence in Delaware. The band is fresh off two sold out performances and has just-under 700 season ticket holders.
Central Ohio Symphony is unique according to Executive Director Warren Hyer since it is “the only one in Delaware County and an important part of the cultural life in our area.”
That area has seen an increase in the number of art and performance studios opening downtown. The Symphony has been an integral part of bringing great music to downtown and working with our community. On Sunday, a special performance will benefit People In Need.
The Symphony is located in Ohio Wesleyan’s old bookstore at 70 South Sandusky Street in downtown Delaware. Performances are held in University Hall’s Gray Chapel with the exception of the July 4th performance in Philips Glen, all on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University.
