Ohio Wesleyan’s production is directed by Edward Kahn, associate professor of theatre and dance, with musical direction by Jason Hiester, assistant professor of music, and choreography by Noelle Chun, theatre and dance instructor.

The musical, which dramatizes both the wonders and trials of love, includes the well-known and much-loved songs “If I Loved You,” “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The show features a cast and crew of more than 80 Ohio Wesleyan students.

Set in New England at the end of the 19th century, “Carousel” tells the story of the relationship between carefree carnival barker Billy Bigelow and millworker Julie Jordan. When the newly unemployed Billy learns he will become a father, he agrees to become an accomplice in a robbery. But the robbery goes awry, and 15 years later Billy returns to meet the troubled daughter he never knew and to fix the damage he inflicted on his family.
