Battelle Industries announced some good news on Wednesday, when it announced that it would add about 200 jobs in Central Ohio.
“We are making these investments now to continue to advance science and accelerate our development of innovative products, services and solutions in the areas of energy, national security, and the health and life sciences,†said Jeff Wadsworth, president and CEO of Battelle, in a press release. “We are pleased to share our growth with Ohio by investing in the region and creating jobs.â€
Batelle will add jobs in to its facility adjacent Ohio State, Dublin, and West Jefferson. The total infusion is expected to be around $200 million.
“This is great news for central Ohio. We look forward to continuing our work with Battelle as they expand and grow into the future,†said Ohio Governor Ted Strickland. “Critical to the success of the Ohio economy is our continued support of organizations like Battelle, which foster innovation and research as well as create the jobs that will lead us through the 21st Century. We also acknowledge Battelle’s commitment to education and other initiatives that strengthen local communities and enhance the quality of life for their residents.â€
What does this have to do with real estate or Delaware?
The quick answer is everything. The more elaborate answer has several components. Columbus is the life-blood of the region. Delaware is growing because it is a great place to live and work, however without our connection to Columbus we are just another medium-sized city fighting to survive.
Kudos to Battelle!
