Twas the night before Thanksgiving and the house was all a bustle as I sat trying to come up with a creative Christmas letter.
- from the turtle, already done it,
- from the dog, check,
- another one from the dog, yeah I was one of “those†people,
- giving up when writer’s block kept it from coming out right, been there, done that.
So where does that leave us? With no new pets or children, it seems we must wait for jolly St. Nicholas to bring some inspiration. Umm, I got nothing here, so we’ll move on.
Gretchen is still working at Grady Memorial Hospital. It has been a crazy year with Ohio Health buying the hospital and implementing new ways to do just about everything. She has continued to moon-light doing scrapbooks and enjoys it – though she’d love to have more time to enjoy it! She is knitting her first scarf and everyone is amazed at her progress and how quickly she has picked it up. Her parents are still doing great and we enjoy getting the chance to visit Republic.
Toby is still working full-time in real estate though he made the move to Keller Williams Consultants in March. He’s surviving the current market conditions and is excited that business seems to be getting better. He continues to volunteer extensively and has worked a lot on the Board of Directors for the Delaware County Board of REALTORS®. Him mom is doing well. We got her moved closer to work in Newark in September, it was a tough weekend, but a good one.
We had possibly the most-amazing weekend ever in November! We had a chance to visit America’s Longest Covered Bridge, the world’s BIGGEST working Amish Buggy, and a national champion spirit girl. Oh, yeah, and it was our fifth anniversary and we spent some time in Ohio’s wineries while staying at the Geneva State Park Lodge on Lake Erie. Hard to believe, I know. Gretchen could barely contain her excitement of seeing all that in one weekend.
If you are ever down Delaware way, don’t hesitate to stop by. Unless you are wearing a jolly red suit we’ll probably answer the door.
