Via Vecchia Having Wine Tasting In Downtown Delaware

Via Vecchia, a Powell wine maker, will bring a collection of their wines to Downtown Delaware’s Simple Indulgence on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

In addition to explaining the wine making process, the “fun and crazy guys” will be signing bottles.

From the Simple Indulgence folks:

  1. Trovato…light bodied red. Suitable for all al fresco fare. Blend of sangiovese and pinot noir.
  2. Adamo…light to medium bodies. Very refreshing. Blend of sangiovese and cab franc.
  3. Jorro-ma. ..medium bodied. Straight syrah.
  4. Trouve…medium to full bodied…drier. A dinner wine. Traditional bordeaux blend of cab sauvignon, cab franc and merlot.

All the sampled wines were crushed in October 2006 and have been fermented in small vats, then aged in French oak barrels between 12-16 months. Via Vecchi uses a wine making’s northern appenine method with minimal intervention and processing which results in wines that have clearly evident characteristics that people will taste.
