Rumor: Wal-Mart Not Building in Delaware

I have heard from two seperate people that Wal-Mart has suspended its plans to build on Cheshire Road and U.S. 23.

The decision was made based upon the Nation’s current economic climate according to both of these individuals.

I haven’t been able to lay my hands on a report that will verify this information. So don’t take this as fact, but it will be interesting to see how it progresses in the coming weeks.

    And may I be the first to admonish WalMart’s Senior Public Affairs Liar…er, Manager, Ron Mosby, not to let the door hit him in the arse on the way out.

    While the homeowners in the neighboring communities would like to think this was due to the fact that we made them feel quite unwelcome, poor sales are more likely to blame. But we’ll take their withdrawl any way we can get it!

    Let us all hope and pray that a more socially responsible and civic-minded entity will take their place at the gateway to our fair city.

    This is one of two very important recent developments in the area that could potentially help the real estate market in the communities surrounding the Cheshire Road area.

    The other news that really has not spread is the incredible, INCREDIBLE amount of time, effort, and capital improvements that Mr. Sabatino and his crew have put into the Delaware Golf Club since purchasing it last year. Hopefully, players will give it another chance and see what a first-class facility it has become.

    I just read this in the paper and I think it’s wonderful news. I love the little Wal-Mart we have in Delaware and avoid the Super Wal-Mart at all costs. I would rather slit my wrists than go there. Just kidding, I think…
