The work on the out lot at Westfield Shopping Center, at the northwest corner of Houk and Central, began just last week and the rumors quickly flowed.
Was this finally the “high-end” restaurant that has been rumored to be developed since Gretchen and I moved to Locust Curve in 2003?
Some wanted a Chipolte.
I never heard anything about an Advanced Auto Parts. Don’t get me wrong, we could use another car place in town, but it just isn’t as glamorous as a new restaurant.
Wink, wink, nudge, nudge - if you are interested in bringing a Chipolte to town, give me a call!

Hi Toby. I’m so disappointed that we’re getting an auto parts store down the street! You know I was hoping for a Chipotle (someone, anyone, please bring a Chipotle to Delaware!) but I would have been pleased to see many other types of business at Westfield as well. But an auto parts store? Seriously! Delaware has more auto parts store per capita than any other small city in the country. I’m sure this is a fact and that I am not exaggerating.
No more auto parts! Our lovely town needs some new shops - and maybe a good burrito.
