Punch Brothers, feature Nickel Creek’s Chris Thile, will be at the Southern Theatre on Friday at 8 p.m.The tour is supporting Punch’s new album which dropped in the U.S. on Feb. 26 and includes “premiere recording of Chris Thile’s composition, ‘The Blind Leading the Blind,’ ” according to Punch’s Web site.
“I’ve squeezed a lot out of my divorce and the period of soul searching that followed,†he explains. “Maybe I’m trying to flush it out of my artistic system!†said Thile in an interview about the 40-minute four-session production.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com. The Southern Theatre is located on East Main Street in downtown Columbus.
Considering how much fun I had – and Gretchen didn’t – at last summer’s Nickel Creek concert, I’m guessing I’ll be going stag if at all to this show. But a guy can dream can’t he.
