Several homeowners along Houk Road – including those living in the Lantern Chase and Locust Curve developments – have had a problem with their back yards recently.
Those back yards had been turned into front yards by the city of Delaware in 2001. Which creates a problem when the homeowner wants to add a swing-set, shed, or fencing.
Recently, the city approved a code change that refers to these yards as double-frontage lots. The difference is that the yard’s usage is taken into account for code purposes. Hence, the homes along Western Dreamer will have their front yard on Western Dreamer and the backyard along Houk Road.
