The images in this video are scary, but according to AAA this is a too common occurance.
In the November/December issue of Home & Away magazine the organization reports that 11 AAA “roadside problem solvers” were killed in the past two years due to accidents along the road.
Hence, the organization is working with several states to include tow truck drivers – and other roadside responders – in the same category as police and other emergency vehicles. Most states have laws that require motorists to slow down or move over for emergency vehicles along the side of the road. And several states have added two truck drivers to those that drivers must slow down or move over for when stopped along side the road.
So regardless of whether of your state has adopted such a law or not, give them a break and slow down and move over. Especially as we move into the Holiday travel season.
