Getting Away: New Year’s Eve in Amish Country

Ken DavisI am a sucker for Der Dutchman – or any of the other restaurants, hotels, or shops under the Dutchman Hospitality umbrella.

And those interested in celebrating New Year’s Eve in a Christian setting surrounded by the beauty of Holmes County’s Amish, then this get away would be perfect for you.

The night begins with a meal at Dutch Valley Restaurant in Sugarcreek, Ohio. The group will then return to Walnut Creek, Ohio and the Carlisle Inn for a night of entertainment featuring Christian comedian Ken Davis (pictured), singers Collingsworth Family and Soul’d Out Quartet (video below).

The night’s festivities are $65 per person and can be purchased by calling 877-722-7547. If you are going to go, I’d suggest making plans to spend the night at the Carlisle Inn which can be done by calling 877-722-7547 or .

If You Go: Leave early. This is New Year’s Eve after-all and no matter how you get to eastern Holmes County it will entail hills and buggies (and possibly snow). Reserve Early if this is like anything else that Dutchman does, it will sell out.
