This has been the first weekend of a Delaware County favorite … Alum Creek’s Fantasy of Lights.
“It’s just really a beautiful show. We expand it every year and it just gets bigger and better,” said Steve Cross, creator and coordinator of the event in a recent interview with the Delaware News.
The annual event begins at the Alum Creek Marina, located at 4000 Hollenbeck Road just east of Old State Road, with free hot chocolate and cookies. Everyone has a chance to have their picture taken with St. Nicholas for $5. Last year, more than 1,800 photos were taken with the jolly fellow.
“The people love it, so every year the come back.”
That’s not all for those that attend with more than 1,000,000 lights lit for your enjoyment. Hours of operation are from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursday and 5:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday through December 30.
Cost to visit the lights is $10 on Monday through Thursday and $15 on Friday and Saturday.
