“I like pizza.”
As we learned from Michael Keaton’s multiple characters in the 1996 movie Multiplicity, making a clone of a clone eventually leads to the quality going away.
And considering the success of McDonald’s-owned Chipotle, it would only be expected that we’d begin to see an increase in the number of “high-end” burrito and taco shops popping up. Wholly Guacamole is just one of those upstarts recently opening in the Kohl’s Shopping Center on Marion’s east side.

We had the opportunity to try it out on Friday and were left with a rather unimpressive result.
The burritos are smaller then their Chipotle counterparts, for about the same price.
Size isn’t always an issue, but taste is. And unfortunately, Gretchen’s chicken ($5.75) and Toby’s steak ($5.75) burrito were lacking a lot of flavor. Gretchen added guacamole ($1.49) and wasn’t impressed with the flavor, color, or quantity.
While we had our meal to go, the atmosphere in the restaurant is a lot of fun. Bright vibrant colors and lots of open space. There was even a little “sitting area” with a flat-screen television at the front of the store.
It isn’t a bad place to eat, however if you are hungry for Mexican in Marion, I’d suggest Mi Jalepeno just down the street from this restaurant.
