This is one of those posts that I’ll continually update as I learn more about real estate and compile more continuing education credits.

Only 10% of all REALTORS have earned a graduate degree

Why does it matter to you?

There are a lot of reasons that this should matter to you. These continuing education credits are not (usually) free. Hence, by taking the 3 or more hours I’m investing in my career — and proving to you that I’ll still be here when you decide to buy or sell your home. I’m not a fair-weather REALTOR, but rather a long-haul ready-to-explode agent.

There is a new market emerging called “Reverse Mortgages for senior citizens. What do you know about it? Not much, other than you’ve heard a lot of scary things about them. Well I attended a class led by Well Fargo’s Keith Turner on just this topic. All Keith does is reverse mortgages, so he knows his stuff. Am I an expert? No. But I can talk intelligently about the product and how it can help - or hurt - you. Plus we have the connection with Keith to get you into talk with an expert if this is something you’d be interested in doing.

Well enough of my babble, the courses I’ve taken to make myself a better agent for you include:

  • Ethics: The Measure of Professionalism; September 11, 2007 (3)
  • Generation X: The Emerging Buyer Today; September 11, 2007 (3)
  • Fair Housing; September 10, 2007 (3)
  • Marketing 101; September 10, 2007 (3)
  • Serving the Senior Market with Reverse Mortgages; July 19, 2007 (3)
  • How to Market You; May 4, 2007 (3)

According to Ohio Real Estate Commission, I need to compile 30 units of continuing education every three years to keep my license. As you can see, I’m in pretty good shape since each of these classes equates to the number CE units in parenthesis.
