Fun Friday: Curves in Delaware Ohio?

September 28th, 2007 · No Comments

CurveHow many curves are there in Delaware County?

I never thought to ask, much less that it would require a grant to be counted. However according to Building Bridges (will open as a PDF), a newsletter from the Delaware County engineer, that’s exactly what the county received. The county received a $22,050 grant from the County Engineer’s Association of Ohio to have an independent consulting firm study Delaware’s curves.

The county has 420 curves on its 330 miles of roads and the study evaluated these curves to make recommendations to bring them into compliance with updated State of Ohio criteria for safe traveling speeds.

So now you know … Delaware has 420 curves.
