Delaware Cows Celebrate A Great Season!

August 5th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Mookie and the rest of the Delaware Cows had one great season. Got off to a great start and then bounced back from a mid-season slump to finish second in the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League Tournament on Saturday.

The Columbus All-Americans, the Cows’ arch-rival, won the championship with a 6-1 victory over the Cows at Ohio State University’s Bill Davis Stadium.

Second place in a tournament is always a tough pill to swallow, but everyone involved with the Cows deserves a major kudos for their effforts this season. From the host parents, to the board of advisors, to General Manager Jay Sokol (a real media darling), and head coach Bruce Heine.

The ink is barely dry on the 2007 season, but we are already beginning talks about 2008 — want to be involved? Contact Toby or Sokol and we’ll be glad to have you on board.

The season was a lot of fun.
But what do I do with the remaining 13 +/- dozen baseballs that are currently residing in our laundry room (aka the GLCA supply depot)? Throw a sheet over them and wait for next year I suppose.
Thanks to everyone who supported the COWs and the league.
