Food & Ohio Wine Festival: A Review

North Market SignWe went to the opening night of the Food and Wine Festival last evening and it was a good time.

As, always we enjoyed the trip to the North Market and had some very good wines and a few not-so-good ones and a great dinner at Firdous Express.

We are spoiled by Vintage Ohio, so we felt that quarters were quite crowded for tWine Bottlehe event.

We did enjoy the trip, and Toby even found a new “favorite” to add to his list. The Marechal Foch from Bryan’s Stoney Ridge Winery was superb.

As to dinner, Gretchen had her usual gyro and enjoyed it greatly. I tried the Lamb with Egyptian Okra and spicy rice and also tossed in a rolled Grape Leaf. All of these were new experiences for me and the everything was excellent. The spicy rice would have gone wonderfully with the flavor of a bottle of Marechal Foch, however it would have made it hard for me to then drive home.

If you want to visit the Festival, it runs from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. today and 1 - 6 p.m. on Sunday and is located at the North Market (52 Spruce St.) in Columbus’ Arena District.

Nice review! I was there on Friday night pouring wine and had a lot of fun. Great weather for the festival this year too! ;)
