Delaware Ohio’s Best Place for Flowers

Mother’s Day serves as more than simply a day to honor our mothers in Delaware County. It also serves as the annual “passage” to summer. If you visited any place that sells flowers this past Flowersweekend and you’d have found it swarming with people. At one point the entry to Price Barnes Organic was packed out to Warrensburg Road. Didn’t get out last week? Well don’t fret.

We’ll share the best places in Delaware to get ready for summer.

Need Soil? Price Barnes Organics

Located on Warrensburg Road between Delaware and Warrensburg is Price Barnes Organics. Price Barnes offers numerous types of soil — from “garden blend” to top soil — and mulches. They can deliver for you or are more than happy to load your truck or trailor up with all the dirt and mulch you can carry — and pay for.

Great Selection: Miller’s Country Gardens

Located on St. Rte. 36 on Delaware’s west side, Miller’s Country Gardens is a wonderful classic market. In the spring you can buy all your flowers and the needs for your garden. Your tomatoes didn’t take off well? Don’t worry, Miller’s offers a great country market throughout the summer, with the best of regional produce. Top that off with their fall festival and you have a year-round treat.

Another Great Choice: Oakland Nursery

Oakland Nursery has several locations throughout central Ohio and they have a wide selection of annuals thorughout the store on Killbourne Road (St. Rte. 521) on Delaware’s east side. They are a nursery so they have a larger selection of trees and shrubs and they maintain a great selection of other needs for the garden as well.

These are the places that Toby and Gretchen visit most often in Delaware. There are several others throughout the county, what is your favorite place to buy flowers?
