We’ve all seen the e-mail where all the words are mispelled, however the human mind is able to decipher the wording into the intended message.
However, when it comes to travelling through Delaware, Ohio the little things do matter.
One easy example is:
- William Street
- Williams Street
Honestly, each of these are streets located near downtown Delaware. Ninety-percent of the time, when someone is referring to William and Williams Street they are talking about William Street.
William Street is one of Delaware’s two east-west routes and is St. Rte. 36 on the west side of town. Located only blocks from William Street off Park Avenue is Williams Street. Williams is a short street that most Ohio Wesleyan students know as “The Hill” and is home to many of the University’s fraternity houses.
Most Delawarites can figure it out, however, if you are searching for a home on William Street and use Williams in the search, that computer won’t differentiate for you.

How confusing! Maybe one should be “Bill” for short. =)
That would be a good one for Williams Street — since Ohio Wesleyan is now almost $40,000 a year!
