I recently became associated with Eric Fredericks and his Walkable Neighborhoods site. Well I published my first article on the site yesterday.
When Eric invited me to become part of the Walkable Neighborhood network, I was honored, and when he asked me to write some articles, I was, again, honored. Then I sat down at the computer and … nothing.
I was haunted by the same question, “what is a walkable neighborhood?”

Hi Toby,
Great article you posted. My friend here in Sacramento - an OSU alum - was impressed that I had a block O pictured on my website. I went to the University of Illinois
If you take the time walk, slow down life, and take note of all the little things - that’s when you come to realize all the great things about a walkable neighborhood. You can probably say this about a lot of neighborhoods, but having the place like a cafe, park, or local restaurant in your neighborhood certainly sets them apart. Your neighborhood is turned into a destination, and not just a place where people live.
