Starbucks and Donatos have had a presence in Delaware for - at least - a year now. However, a new location of both will soon go online on Delaware’s west side.
The “new” Kroger, located on State Route 37 at Houk Road, underwent an addition this past summer and is now in the final stages of creating a Kroger Marketplace. The difference between a Kroger and a Kroger Marketplace is that the Marketplace’s offer more consumer goods and usually have at least a couple of other vendors in the store. (For more information on the Marketplace, here is an article from the Business Courier.)
It is nice to have another coffee shop in town, but I’m not a big fan of Starbucks coffee. And the DonatosĀ (at least for now) is a “take - and - bake” facility which is fine. But with Hungry Howie’s Pizza only three doors down it will be interesting to see how they compare.
Just as an aside, did you know that grocery stores do not allow cameras inside their stores? I have no idea, but was quickly told by Kroger employees as I tried to take a picture of the new Starbucks kiosk … what does that have to do with anything? Well I’m not sure …
