Delaware, Ohio — both the city and the county — will celebrate their 200th birthday during 2008 and planning is underway for a grand year.

Toby was invited to become part of the Delaware County Bicentennial Committee – which was led by ERA Keller’s Rick Helwig – on Tuesday night.

The plans are to have a “kick-off” celebration on April 1 that will celebrate the date when the county established its leaderships after splitting from Franklin County.

The city has also established a committee which will be establishing a calendar of events for the city’s celebrations as well.

The committee is still very early in the planning process and will meet again on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at the County’s Hayes Building.

Be prepared for a party time in 2008!
